Strong Defense: Current Software
Cybersecurity basic rules include a strong password defense, avoiding scams, and keeping your software current. Using the latest versions of operating systems, software, and apps ensures that you have the latest security patches installed (as well as fixes for other problems).
If you can, set up the update process to occur automatically so you don’t have to think about it. If not, check on a regular basis and be sure only to obtain updates from the company directly.
